This is the bass instrument of the brass family, is non transposing and written in the bass clef. There are a lot of other good metronomes on the market, and some which are not so suitable. I can see what Besson euph's are popular. A good way to lessen the chance of this happening is to use this device only in harmony lines, where it’s likely to be less noticeable. This is a characteristic of the bright sound of brass instruments: the bell radiates several of the higher harmonics well.

Note that the pitch doesn't change, so the frequencies of the spectral lines are constant. However the power of every harmonic increases with time, so the sound becomes louder. The higher harmonics increase more than do the lower, which makes the timbre 'brassier' or brighter, and also makes it louder. (To re-emphasise our point about loudness: over this crescendo, the fundamental increases by only 8 dB, but the ninth and some higher harmonics—in the sensitive range of your ear—increase by more than 45 dB.) An interesting point about loudness in brass instruments Le prophète (Coronation March): Trombone 1, 2 and 3 parts (Qty 2 each) [A1723]. Two bent sections connecting three straight tubes can result either in an S-shaped instrument, or with more stability, a loop. Second, they discovered how to insert a slightly narrower tube inside the first "yard" of the either of these bent trumpets so that the instrument could slide along it and become longer A Very Trombone Christmas.

Symphony No.9, Op.125: Trombone 1 part (Qty 2) [A1261]. First, we have to rethink the sound of "Bach's trombones". They were not the big Wagnerian instruments of the 19th century but rather the small and soft-voiced sackbutts of the late Renaissance. Together with the cornetto, they doubled voices almost as a norm to create the sound of a choral tutti. In polychoral motets, especially in Gabrieli, they often replaced voices, and there is much commentary about how much they resembled human voices Loreley, Op.98 (Finale): Trombone 3 part (Qty 2) [A2662].
